Pete has thirty four years of public agency management experience in California local government. Prior to joining the Municipal Resource Group, he was the County Executive (CEO) for the County of Santa Clara, an organization of fifteen thousand employees and an operating budget of four billion dollars. He has held a number of executive and leadership positions with Santa Clara County, including Assistant County Executive (Chief Operating Officer), Deputy County Executive, Director of Labor Relations and Director of Personnel. He also served as the Director of Personnel for the City of South San Francisco. In addition to these executive positions, Pete has extensive direct and executive level experience involving public policy issues, coaching for performance, budget and service priorities, community process and involvement, homeland security and emergency preparedness, collective bargaining and human resources/labor relations activities. Pete is a graduate of San Jose State University and has completed the Harvard Kennedy School Program for Senior Executives in State and Local Government.
